Raphael Films team member Todd is an amazing actor, director and acting coach.
Todd started acting in theater as a child, but didn’t really get serious until his high school girlfriend talked him into taking an acting class with her. The teacher gave him a scene from THE BREAKFAST CLUB, “Sport-o”, and it was all over from there - he had fallen in love with acting!
Todd auditioned and was accepted into the Boston University Conservatory where he received grants and scholarships to pay for his education. There, he studied acting, directing and theatre studies while graduating with an MFA.
While Todd was at university, he took an internship in London, England where he read scripts for Norma (producer/DANGEROUS LIAISONS) and David (producer/ the HARRY POTTER franchise) Heyman’s production companies.
Todd spent his last collegiate summer in New York teaching gifted children acting at an arts camp.
After college he moved back to the Bay Area where he started working as model and actor in San Francisco. He worked on plays, TV shows, commercials, and movies until he got his union cards and, eventually, moved to Hollywood.
His first two years Todd studied with William Alderson, a graduate and teacher at The Neighborhood Playhouse, who taught the Sanford Meisner Technique. Upon graduation, he found a manager and agent and soon began his career in Los Angeles, booking his first movie, ESCAPE UNDER PRESSURE (opposite Rob Lowe) aand a ROSS commercial campaign.
The past 12 years he has worked and earned a living as an actor. He has acted in community theatre, shot over 40 commercials, and guest starred and reoccured in numerous television shows, including CSI, CSI:NY, THE CLOSER, NIP/TUCK, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, ZOEY 101, COLD CASE, BURN NOTICE and WITHOUT A TRACE to name a few. In 2008 he starred as “Jack Porter” in the MY.NETWORK.TV hit series, WATCH OVER ME (65 episodes) .
He has also appeared in huge box office movies, such as SEVEN POUNDS, LADDER 49, SURROGATES and THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES, and worked with some of the greatest actors of our time: Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis, Joaquin Phoenix, John Travolta, Chris Pine, Fay Dunaway, Rob Lowe, Kyra Sedgwick, J.K. Simmons, Rosamund Pike, Felicity Huffman, George Wendt, Sharon Gless, Patrick Warburton, and Elliott Gould.
He just finished playing the lead role in and independent feature film called LIFT ME UP, starring opposite to Shane Harper, Chris Browning and Kathryn McCormick.
In the off time, he has studied with the greatest teachers and places in town: Margie Haber, Lesly Kahn, Dee Wallace, William Stanford Davis, The Groundlings, Improv Olympics, Kalmenson & Kalmenson, and Film Actor’s Workshop. He has done countless amount of casting director workshops and he has been coached by some of the best - Shari Shaw, Annie Grindlay and Eric Kline. He was also an active member in The Collective Theatre Company for five years.
In short, there are not many rocks in this business that he hasn't turned. In the past few years has been directing short films, written four features, and is working on the pre-production on his first Independant. He has also directed and produced many videos for corporate websites.
